Major Dental Reconstruction

Major dental reconstruction implies restoring or rebuilding the entire dentition. This can be done with various prosthetic devices including Crowns, Bridges and dental implants. It is the most complex effort in dentistry and requires the efforts of a dentist highly trained in this area. The major portion of a prosthodontist's advanced education is in the field of Dental Reconstruction and he or she is considered an expert in this area. Below is an example of a major Dental Reconstruction Patient.

This patient has suffered severe destruction to her teeth from a grinding habit and normal wear and tear of her dentition. The results have been a loss of face height, spacing between the teeth and a general deterioration in her smile.

Treatment for this patient involved restoring all of the teeth with crowns and bridges. The results restored her face height and improved the appearance of her teeth. Her facial appearance was also improved significantly.
